I am a Rat. I am supposed to easily attract the opposite sex. Not sure if this is true, but dh thinks I'm hot mama. (They work hard to achieve their goals, acquire possessions, and are likely to be perfectionists.) I'd say that fits me a bit. (They are basically thrifty with money.)For sure. (Rat people are easily angered.)I'm not easily angered, but I am easily annoyed.

I was once given an extensive description of my Chinese zodiac & while I have a lot of the characteristics, I find that traditional astrology resonates more w/ me (plus the idea that EVERYONE in my grade growing up was the same sign as me?! Wild). But here goes: I am a boar or pig. I'm supposed to be a goal oriented intellectual. Check. I am supposed to be honest & sincere. Check. But then it says I naively expect similar treatment in others. Now, I may become agitated I don't get similar treatment but I certainly don't expect anything from anyone, I learned that a while ago. I'm also supposed to be into material things - hmm, I wouldn't call me "materialistic" but yes, I find comfort in my things (that's also the Taurus in me).

Tangentially, I remember the 1st time traditional astrology really hit home w/ me. I have always had many Taurean traits, though I never felt 100% aligned w/ 'em. Then my astrologisty/herbologist buddy said one day to me "But you're on the cusp of Aries. So your Aries fiery impatience often contradicts the steadfastness of your Taurean ways." I was like, oh snap that is so true!

Another reason I am slightly turned away from Chinese astrology - DH & I just ate at a Chinese restaurant where our zodiac menus told us to avoid each other! (He's also a boar/pig). No way am I doin THAT! :oP

I am considered the most vital and powerful of any animal in the Chinese zodiac, a natural mover and shaker. I am the Fire Dragon--a double dragon, and much like my Western zodiac sign, the Gemini, free-spirited and unhibited. Dragons bring energy to social gatherings. Enthusiastic and confident, dragons inspire confidence in others with honesty and quick wit. Dragons are also known to be hotheaded and sharp-tongued, and can run off at the mouth without thinking. Yet, dragons can often recover quickly, for those who Dragons love and trust delight in the tender concern, and soft and sensitive heart that Dragons only reveal to them. Dragons are not shy about going after what they want.

Noteworthy Dragons include: Susan B. Anthony, Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale, Sigmund Freud, John Lennon, and Bruce Lee.

I do feel I embody these qualities, like it or not. I am an eternal work in progress, and I tend to live my life passionately, often without forethought. As a result, I feel I am often misunderstood, even among my own friends and loved ones. I can only hope that I truly inspire and touch those whose paths I cross as I blaze through life.

I am an Ox. One site says this about the ox:

"People born in the Year of the Ox are patient, speak little, and inspire confidence in others. They tend, however, to be eccentric, and bigoted, and they anger easily. They have fierce tempers and although they speak little, when they do they are quite eloquent. Ox people are mentally and physically alert. Generally easy-going, they can be remarkably stubborn, and they hate to fail or be opposed."

I guess I would have to say that it is mostly true with a few exceptions. First, I am not patient AT ALL. Second, there are sometimes I speak a lot and sometimes I'm very quiet. It depends on who I am around and how comfortable I am with that person. At home you can't shot me up, while in a professional setting I tend not to say much.
