QueZZtion of the Week - November 16, 2008

With the holiday season coming upon us, there's so many great holiday movies. I love watching March of the Wooden Soldiers on Thanksgiving Day, the old Laurel & Hardy film. I've been watching it every year since I was a little girl. I also love watching The Christmas List with Mimi Rogers, she makes a list of all her wishes and each one comes true! So tell me, what's your favorite holiday movie?

"White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Rosemary Clooney. And "It's a Wonderful Life" with James Stewart.

Mom and I used to watch these movies on Christmas Eve as we'd decorate the tree. We were always last minute decorators, and as I grew older, that time was cherished and we just absolutely LOVED those few hours together.

Marlene, this is a tough one! I love so many Christmas movies out there - "A Christmas Carol," "A Christmas Story" (you'll shoot your eye out!), "ELF"!, etc...

But I think if I had to pick faves, it'd be the claymation Christmas programs from my childhood - "The Year Without A Santa Claus," "Santa Claus is Coming To Town," "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," "Frosty the Snowman," etc. (honorable mention goes to "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" though that's regular-animation). Those old-fashioned special effects really stand the test of time, plus they're great stories w/ lovable characters &, in some cases, catchy songs! ("I'm Mister Heat Meiser, I'm Mister Sun..."). They remind me of being a kid, w/ all my family, & feeling the magic & sparkle in the air during the holidays. They're fun for kids AND grown-ups!

Check out this cool site I found, where you can download Christmas classics to watch - this guy even made a whole section about claymation programs, even reminded me of a few I forgot. :o)

"White Christmas" for sure! The Bass & Rankin movies are great too. The 'technology' and look of those intrigues me.
