QueZZtion of the Week Jan 18

You know those stories your parents and siblings always tell about you from when you were a kid? The she was so bad...I can't believe he did this... type of stuff.... Tell us one. I promise we will only laugh a little ;)

Guess since I'm asking you to bare your soul here, I'll go first.
My mom told me that when I was about 3 she couldn't find me anywhere, and was frantically searching and calling my name all over the house and out side, she was freaked out because we lived near a river that had recently flooded, and she didn't know if I'd gotten outside somehow. She got the neighbors involved with looking for me, and everyone was in a state of panic. She decided it was time to call the police because no matter how much everyone searched and called my name, no one could find me. As she was talking to the dispatcher she heard a little giggle, and when she looked I was under the table where the phone was laughing my butt off!! It had a long table cloth, so no one could see me hiding under it! She said I got a butt beating that I remembered for a while for that one!! LOL

one story my dad LOVES to tell is how we were all fishing one day and catching nuthin. Most family members gave up and started to drift off to do other things. Only my brother and I were left and the sun was starting to set. I saw a dried up worm on the railing of the dock and decided to give it a try. That worm caught me the biggest fish from that dock that anyone had ever seen. Everyone was amazed and it created quite a stir as I walked down the dock. I'll never forget the look on my dad's face. He said it was my determination. Over the years that fish has gotten bigger and BIGGER! These days if you hear the story I bet my dad will tell you that fish was 3 feet long (as tall as I was at the time).

One story my parents love to tell about me was when we took a family trip, along w/ other families we knew, to Hershey Amusement Park when I was around 3 yrs old. One time before we took a ride I said "Hold my hand, Daddy, so if I fall, you fall with me." OMG - they thought that was the most HILARIOUS, most clever & precocious thing said by a 3 yr old girl EVER!! They couldn't stop laughing!

But the thing is, I totally stole that line. Earlier, while waiting w/ some of the older kids (8-13) in our group to board another ride, I heard about how some other kid had said that. I simply retained the witty quote & parroted to my folks. Then, when my parents were bragging to the other families about how clever & funny I was, I heard the big kids say to one another "hey that's what so&so said."

Years later I finally told my parents I stole that line. But they still think it was the most hilarious thing ever, whether or not it was an original quote from me. They LOVE repeating this story. Parents! :)
