BWC#4 ~ One Word!

Okay you guys, it's that time again. But first, let's take a look at our responses to BWC#3 1st SB.com Favs:

Sharon: Dorm Room Diorama http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/layout/1978765.html

Marlene: BWC#3 1st SB.com Favs http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=galleries&u=152683&m=view&id=1984337&page=1

Now, for our next challenge. Pick one word that best describes how you're feeling right now and scrap it. It can be anything: card, layout or project. The catch ~ no pictures, the rest is up to you. Let your imagination run wild.

Here's my response, I decided to start an art journal and here's my cover:

Have fun and I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

QueZZtion of the Week, Feb 8, 2009

When was the last time, or a notable time, you laughed so hard you cried?

The last time I did was when I watched this mugshot goof video - it's such a serious matter being discussed but the clip ends up being so inappropriately hilarious.  Another time was when DH & I were checking out his passport photo while on an airplane... he was his usual adorable self in the pic but there was a shadow around his neck... it looked like he had a hairnet on, holding the (nonexistent) hair in the back of his head - hahahaa!  We were DYING in our seats when we saw that!

Questions of the week Jan 25 & Feb 1st

A two for...

What is your most prized possession?
Have you scrapped it? If yes, please share a link. If no, why not.

My most prized possession is a letter from a loved one who has passed away. I have not scrapped it because it is too personal. Maybe some day.

BWC #3 - 1st Sb.com Faves

Time for a new Biweekly Challenge! First off, let's hear it for recent challenge responses:

Git 'Er Done!! BWC:
Chris' 2007 Xmas Card Mosaic
Marlene's 2 Reasons I Love Being A Mom
Sharon's Moving (left & right sides)

Change BWC:
Marlene's Change

Great work, everyone! Please check these out in the LO thread if you haven't already. Now, onwards...

It's interesting to look back on what we've made note of in the past. I've done some research & compiled a list of the VERY FIRST LOs/PROJECTS in each members' Scrapbook.com Favorites (the general faves, not within any of the categories):

Sharon - Snorkeling by Jill
Christy - Eternal Love by Zeebootee
Brenda - Shinkansen by Embellies
Tiffany - Walk Towards the Sunshine by Verena
Lisa - Southern 4 Pager by Frankcassiemom
Melissa - Patterned Paper Addict by KristinG
Amanda - Xoxo by Crazycat
Jesse - LOVE by Fort Myers Scrapper
Marsha - Sweet Valentine (2006) by Saskscrap
Marlene - Book of Me by Latinascrapper
Chris - Heritage Album- ending page by D3nKs
Deborah - Circle of Friends by 2rowdyboys
Brian - What Do You See by Natycoe
Jen - Goin Parkin by 1mommascrapin

I think you all know where this is going... Your next challenge is to create a LO/project that lifts your very 1st scrapbook.com saved favorite as listed above. (Pinkie swear that I left mine as it was). When you post your response, also provide a link to the original LO (embedding is not necessary as some LOs are really old, done perhaps by neighbors long gone from sb.com) & tell us a little about what drew you to that work if you can recall. Or let us know how the work speaks to you now. Also discuss a bit how you use sb.com Favorites. For example, I only rarely remember to save my actual faves in my Favorites, I do save some faves there but I tend to use my Favorites more as a research/reference library on topics I may want to scrap in the future, or on one element/technique product that I'd like to check out.

As usual, you have 2 weeks to respond, meaning the deadline is February 15th. Of course, you can post a response following that, but that's just when the next BWC will be up.

Have FUN revisiting your Favorites! :o)

BWC #2: Change

In light of the recent presidential inauguration, create a lo or other scrafty project inspired by "Change." Your work does not have to be related to our new administration, but the word must appear somewhere on your creation.
(This BWC is inspired by Ali Edwards and adopted by the One Little Word Challenge blog team.)

QueZZtion of the Week Jan 18

You know those stories your parents and siblings always tell about you from when you were a kid? The she was so bad...I can't believe he did this... type of stuff.... Tell us one. I promise we will only laugh a little ;)

Guess since I'm asking you to bare your soul here, I'll go first.
My mom told me that when I was about 3 she couldn't find me anywhere, and was frantically searching and calling my name all over the house and out side, she was freaked out because we lived near a river that had recently flooded, and she didn't know if I'd gotten outside somehow. She got the neighbors involved with looking for me, and everyone was in a state of panic. She decided it was time to call the police because no matter how much everyone searched and called my name, no one could find me. As she was talking to the dispatcher she heard a little giggle, and when she looked I was under the table where the phone was laughing my butt off!! It had a long table cloth, so no one could see me hiding under it! She said I got a butt beating that I remembered for a while for that one!! LOL

QueZZtion of the Week, Jan. 11, 2009

Last week's QOW got me in a reflectin' mood so here goes - Do you have any fears/phobias you've had since childhood & if so, what are they? How is it living as an adult w/ these characteristics?

What about strengths/abilities since childhood?

Discuss, please!

For me, I've always had a fear of heights & the dark, & I've always been a naturally shy person. These have lessened in adulthood but knowing this about myself helps me figure out whether or not to challenge these things about myself, or to honor them. Sometimes I think completely immersing myself in what I fear is just what I need, other times it's the opposite - depends on the situation!

As for strengths, I've always been creative & able to relish solitary time (I know some people can't stand being alone, I often thrive on it!). I have also always been adept at public speaking.

:o)
